In a digital world, students engage more with digital maps than paper ones yet often fail to make the link to geography and how the geography matters. This session will explore ways to help students engage in meaningful wayswith a range of digital map formats (from phone maps to Google and more advanced GIS), and discuss how we can bring the 'wow' factor to maps to support student engagement. It will consider links to careers, as well as barriers to engagement and strategies to overcome these.
