About me
I graduated in Geography in 1982 and trained as a teacher in 1990. Most of my subsequent career has been at Varndean College in Brighton where I was Head of Department for 25 years. I completed an MA in Education in the early 2000s and have benefitted from numerous in service training programmes as well as running many educational trips in the UK and abroad. I am now retired although continuing to do some work within the college as well as some voluntary work assissting local geography teachers or with the local National Park. one of my most interesting projcts over recent decades has been the re-wilding / reinstatement of downland flora around our campus. We use these areas for teaching in several disciplines and enrichment through practical conservation activities such as tree planting. I am a long serving and active member of the local GA branch as well as being a member of the National GA.
