About me
I am currently the Secondary Geography Subject Lead at Manchester Hospital School, where I have the privilege of delivering geography education to young people facing a wide range of complex barriers to learning. Prior to this role, I spent 17 years teaching in a large mainstream secondary school, where I developed a strong foundation in curriculum planning, teaching and learning, and pastoral care.Throughout my career, I have developed a deep passion for making geography accessible to all learners. My work now focuses on ensuring that students with SEND, as well as those experiencing significant physical or mental health challenges, have meaningful and engaging access to the subject. I believe that geography provides a unique lens through which young people can connect with the wider world, and I am committed to adapting and innovating so that every student can experience this, regardless of their individual circutances.
